Am I Being Lazy?

In case anyone thinks that I am slacking...

I am still narrowing on identifying the extinct Hong King fox. It's a work in progress.

I am still finding out more about the history of badgers which is far more interesting than most badger books you can read these days. Their story in the UK is remarkable.

I am still working on UK and Ireland wolves along with my colleague LM. Still a lot of leads to follow up.

As an aside we discovered that the Old British red squirrel became extinct through hunting in the early 1800s (tentatively the 1860s) at the same time as the wild cat and Old foxes. Many other species such as birds and deer also met the same fate. Why does UK wildlife DNA match European wildlife DNA?  because hunts imported by the thousands each year to keep up 'the sport'

This is why the wild tabby cat of Scotland has DNA that matches European wild cats and, no, I am not going to search for Old European wild cats!
