A Quick Note On The Fox Deaths Project

The final report on the Fox Deaths Project is going to be quite interesting as another, newer virus has popped up. I am not going to reveal anything yet as there is a lot more work to do.

Once the final post mortem report arrives I can get to work and the main thing has been to make the report easily readable by non-technical people so there is a glossary of sorts explaining the terms used. There is a lot her that can impact on pet and humans and so that people can understand what has been found is very important.

Someone said they they don't think that they could read a report with post mortem photos but there will not be any. There will be a photo of the dead fox but that is it. The more technical post mortem reports will be available to a vet or specialist though that will need to be approved by the pathologist first.

From the very -VERY- bumpy start the project has been an eye-opener and I hope the data will contribute to what we know of foxes in the UK and wild canids in general as there are many similarities between them. And, yes, I have been chatting to people involved in wolf, coyote and jackal research though not dingo so far.

The one good thing about the post mortems has been that we got probably the best person we could have wished for. And I am very grateful and thankful to him for his work (I can be a little bit annoying -unintentionally- at times) and the agencies involved.
