After decades of work involving both exotics as well as wild cats and foxes there is one thing that I have learnt and certain events recently proved nothing has changed.
Never ever trust an academic or a so-called high ranking professional. Dr or Professor are just titles. They will talk of "Professional academic" or "professional" guidelines and high standards as well as crediting anyone contributing to a study. Only one professor in 50 years (yoikes) gave me credit for research work and using my files, however, they then cut off all contact and my rare books as well as papers were never returned. Complain to the Professor or the University? They cover each others asses.
The recent work that was blocked was intended not for profit but to send to vets and wildlife rescues as a lot was learnt. Cyber bullying and threats seemingly supported by certain bodies shows that you can never trust anyone or organisation -I have had run ins with DEFRA and its predecessors in the past so nothing new here; this current situation can only be viewed as an attempt to suppress the final report.
